Belly Laughs

Here is a video of Kyle laughing. I think it was his first true, true belly laugh! It will make anyone smile, even if you're sick (yes, I had a stomach bug once again).

Helping Dad set up the tree

Kyle really liked helping Adam set up the tree. Well, I guess you could say he enjoyed the box the lights came in more. Kyle does enjoy the christmas tree, though. He points at it if it's not on, then claps when we turn it on.

Forts and hide-and-seek

Kyle loves going through tunnels that Adam makes him in the living room as well as going on the side of the couch and waiting for us to find him! Here are a few pictures of Kyle playing.

First Birthday Party

As you can see, it was quite a challenge trying to get about ten one-year olds to pose for a picture at their first birthday party. This is the group of kids we get together with every other week from our Beaumont Parent group. The kids are all within a month of each other.

Kyle's First Birthday

So Kyle officially turns one tomorrow, but we had his party last night and he sure had a blast! He painted his face full of frosting, and then pretty much ruined his mom's sweater with the green frosting. Note to self-do not get another first birthday cake with green frosting! We all had it on our teeth and clothes! Kyle loved all his gifts and is busy playing with them all day! More pics to come, but I am exhausted and going to bed!

Thanksgiving

Kyle had a great first Thanksgiving! He was a happy camper wherever we went. First, we went to Larry's where Grandma made a turkey! Kyle tried his first Thanksgiving meal, but for some reason he felt like flinging it more than trying it, which is not like him. Then, we went to Adam's Aunt Linda's to visit and of course eat some more!

It's been awhile

Yeah, yeah. I know it's been awhile. After us being sick with the flu to conference time for Laura, the last thing I want to do is add to the blog. So before I go to bed, I'll tell you what Ky, Ky has been up to (that's what the kids at his school call him). He is now walking a lot more...down the hall (o.k. it's not that long, but he didn't do it a few weeks ago!), across the kitchen, etc. He gives hi-fives, likes to dance to a turtle toy by kicking his feet up and down while sitting, and gives kisses! He loves to be wild and crazy with Adam, and his newest favorite is going for rides in the laundry basket! We are having lots of fun, forget about the messy house! So, I will attempt to leave you with a picture. As you can see, he loves the Spartans, loves to bang on his Dad's laptop, and loves to read, read, read!!!! Have a good day!

Kyle Walks!

Here is a video of Kyle walking. He is definitely getting closer. Yesterday (yes the day MSU beat Michigan, at the Big House), Kyle was walking a ton and clapping for the Spartans!

Kyle's First Trip to the Cider Mill

Here's the story: We tried to go to the Cider Mill near our house (not the best one) on Sunday, a beautiful, fall sunny day. There was nowhere to park, so we said forget it, we'll come back one day during the week. So, we plan to go Monday. We hurry up, get home, get Kyle fed, haven't even eaten ourself when the rain starts to come down. I said, screw the idea of getting good pics and taking a nice, fall walk around. I sent Adam to go get the goods: Cider and donuts. Here's Kyle's first cider mill pics. Maybe next weekend? P.S. I would have never taken pics of this pre-blogging days.

A Weekend Away at Mackinac Island

We spent the last weekend up at Mackinac Island. We were quite lucky to have such sunny weather and the colors were starting to change. Kyle was a champ and loved going around the island in the Burley. He slept in my arms the whole way over on the ferry. And he enjoyed the butterfly house too with Wendy and Brian! (This was pre-haircut...should have kept it long)

Kyle's First Zoo Boo

I know it's not Halloween yet, but we started the celebration early with our friends Chris, Jess, and Jesse and took the boys to the Detroit Zoo for the Zoo Boo. The boys even stayed up past their bedtime and loved seeing all the costumes! And the Dad's loved it too (what were you drinking? Hmmmm) Along the way, there were cool pumpkin exhibits (see pics) and we saw a few animals (no, I am not talking about the Rushlows-we saw them too :)) but will have to go back to see the polar bears another day. We got some candy too! Yum, yum! Moo and Ribbit, for now! P.S. Yes, I got my haircut...and I don't like it, but we all know hair grows!

Kyle loves books!

So, being that Kyle's first word is book "gook" you know he LOVES books. In fact, lately, after we read a book, if he wants to hear it again, he gets down-right whiny so that we will read it again! His teacher-mom is so proud! He even knows how to turn the page on his own too! And I was waiting for someone to comment on a previous blog as to how impressed you were that we were reading to Kyle while tailgating! So, I will post the picture again for you to see! (and maybe you will even make a comment)

Granny's 91st Birthday

We celebrated Great-Granny's 91st birthday on Sunday! We made her salad, spaghetti, bread, cookies, and brought a cake too! She liked her chocolate and should be set until Christmas! Kyle showed off for her and got a good laugh trying to smell her pretty roses!

Kyle's First Tailgate and Spartan Game

Kyle had a blast at his first tailgate and football game! The weather was sunny and pretty hot...a beautiful day for Spartan football! He loved trying to get to beer bottles to suck on and meet all his new Spartan friends. And he learned how to scream and cheer at the game and even started to do the fight song a little bit (waving his arms is close enough!). He did greaaaaat for a 14 hour day from leaving home to getting back home at night! And he's a good luck charm because we won against Notre Dame! (even though they're not that good this year)

I know, I know

So, as you will see below, I have posted many of the things that have happened in the past month. Can you tell Laura went back to school?!? It was a very chaotic beginning to school in a long time, but we are now settling in...if only Adam didn't have to work until 10 or later many nights. We were supposed to take Kyle to his first MSU tailgate and game today, but it has been raining non-stop all day. So instead, I had to clean the house before I went crazy from stuff being everywhere. 9 months is such a fun age! Kyle finally crawls the "real" way, instead of scooting, and along with pulling himself up on EVERYTHING, he apparently thinks he knows how to walk like us because he just lets go of whatever he's holding onto. He will be walking before we know it! He tried ham today and absolutely loved it! We knew this because every spoonful, he kept licking his lips...a lot! And his first word is book! Well, he says gook! but every time he sees a book or we pick one up, he says Gook! I don't think I could be more proud (that's the teacher in me). He has been so cuddly lately and gives lots of hugs and seems to have adjusted well to his new "school" after a few weeks of some rough days here and there. We love our little guy so much! Now, if we could just get Adam home from work at a decent hour, life would be even better! And it's not even tax season yet! So, sorry I have not been blogging on a regular basis! I will work on it. That's all for now folks! XOXO
