We moved!

Saying good-bye to lots of good memories in the old house

What a whirlwind it has been!  We moved from our house on 983 Oxford in Berkley to Lake Orion!  It was nice to not buy a fixer-upper, but instead to just move in!  We are still not fully unpacked, but we are settled enough!  We moved on September 16, 2011.  We've met a few neighbors so far that are very nice.  We are super excited that our neighborhood has a pool and park and that there are lots of kids and unbumpy sidewalks for Kyle to ride his bike on!  We do miss walking up to Westborn Market when we need and the closeness of the Zoo, etc. but we are happy to have more space and light in our home!  And did I mention ecstatic to have a garage and first floor laundry!  Aahh, the little things!

Here's a few  pics.

Sean-Four to Seven Months

Here is what Sean is up to!
Six months-time to sleep train-we don't rock you or hold you to sleep...but you still wake up at least once every night.  You only sleep from about 10 until 6!  We are hoping you start stretching it a bit, but we'll take what we can get!
Sean is a happy boy!  He loves to giggle!  Especially when you tickle his back or belly!
End of 6 months-Sean is breaking his first two bottom teeth and one on the top
4 to 5 months-Sean rolled over more from front to back and back to front.  He still isn't rolling all over, but he knows he can do it if he needs to!
5-7 months-Sean loves jumping in his jumperoo and playing in his exersaucer!

6 months-Sean started eating solids-rice cereal, oatmeal, squash, and broccoli.  He loves them all so far!
6 months-Sean can sit up on his own!  He loves to play with all the light up toys and watch his big brother, too!

6 months-Sean is eating 5 times a day-about 5 ounces each
Sean is still swaddled to go to sleep EVERY time!  He sure likes to be bundled up!  Right now is the first time he fell asleep with one arm out of the swaddle!  He started to notice that he can reach for things in his crib!
Sean is such a happy boy who loves to play, laugh, smile, and babble!  We love our Sean-y!

Sean-Three to Four Months

Sean has been learning lots!  He now giggles and coos quite a bit.  he rolled over a few times in the past month, too!  He started batting at toys and LOVES to watch his big brother ALL the time!  The boys look quite a bit alike, minus the haircolor.  Take a look at the pics! He doesn't eat in the night, but still stirs.  He is getting better at sleeping in his crib more than the swing.  At four months, he weighs 15 lbs. 10 oz!  He sure is growing quickly!  Kyle tells Sean that he loves him quite often and is a good helper in getting burp cloths, playing with him,and drumming for him, too! Sean is above Kyle in the pics.  They really do look alike!

Glen Lake-July 2011

We attempted a family trip with a 3 month old.  I don't know if I'd volunteer to do that again...it sure was nice to be out of the house, but Sean is a fussy bussy in the car, which made traveling up north and around a bit stressful.  But we sure had lots of fun!  We stayed on beautiful Glen Lake in Glen Arbor, near Sleeping Bear Dunes.  It is SOOOO beautiful there!  The water is soo shallow and clear!  We shared a cottage with the Geottes' and enjoyed playing with all our boys (4 total).  Kyle wouldn't go in the water half the week after he fell off a tube with Cousin Coral two weeks prior to that.  We rented kayaks, had a bonfire on the beach in Glen Haven, the boys climbed the Dunes, us girls got pedicures, and we all went to the Cherry Festival, too.  It was a beautiful week weatherwise!

Sean-Three Months

Another month has flown by.  Sean is gaining weight well and is getting cute, chunky legs!  He smiles a lot and coos, too!  He giggled for the first time the other day at 3 months, and again for the second time yesterday!  There is nothing better than hearing a baby's giggle!  He is ticklish all over and lovesss to watch his big brother!  He is definitely turning into a mama's boy and cries when other people hold him.  He'll have to get over that quickly!  He is definitely fussy when he goes to sleep and has a hard time going to sleep on his own, ever since he was about a month.  He has to stay swaddled tight to stay asleep!  Even in the car seat, his reflexes wake him up unless he is swaddled.  We are trying to get him to sleep better in his crib, but you gotta pick your battles and we all need sleep, so the swing works great for now most days!  He rolled over for the first time the other day too!  I think we won't see that again for another month, though.  He keeps getting stronger, but his neck is favoring the right side after having him in his car seat a bit too much over vacation.  We are working on getting it back to normal.  He sleeps for about six hours at a time, sometimes more, sometimes less.  He is on his second cold...in the summer, no less!  Not sure why!  It is so fun to see him smile coo and cuddle.  We love our yawny Seany!

Sean-two months

I guess what everyone says is true about the second child. I haven't blogged since he was born!  Yikes!  So..here's a quick rundown.  Sean is two months now and weighs 11 pounds, 2 oz. Almost twice his birthweight!  Yeah!  He sleeps for about five hours at a time in the night now..sheeew!  He is a fussy-go-to-sleep-baby, meaning he cries almost everytime he is on the verge of going to sleep, no matter what we try!  He eats about 7 times a day now.  He is smiling lots and cooing lots too!  His eyes sparkle and are still blue.  He loves the song, "if you're happy and you know it..."  He had jaundice after birth, but did not need the billi blanket because his output was good and he didn't have as high of levels as Kyle.  He does have a slight hernia near the belly button that they are watching.  Besides that,  so far, so good!
Kyle, the big brother....took some time to adjust.  He was not so sure about the situation and didn't want anything to do with his mom the first few days.  When I asked if he wanted to go to the market, just him and I, he was so ecstatic!  He held my hand the wholleeee way there and held his head so high!  He said, "mom, I love you so much!"  I'll never forget it.  He didn't go near Sean much the first few weeks.  Now, though, he gives him kisses, rocks him in his car seat or bouncer (even without me asking), he talks to him more...but he still isn't into holding him.  He likes helping Adam feed him a bottle and tells me when Sean's crying, "mom, he needs a diaper change" or "mom, he needs to be burped".  Too cute.  One time, when Graham-ma was over and Sean was crying, Kyle said to her, "you need to feed him a bottle" and "he needs his diaper changed".  He sure is observant!  Kyle enjoys helping to do the dishes (more so to play with the water), paint, color, play board games, and ride his bike with training wheels.  He picked it up pretty quickly, but likes to put on the brakes a lot (yeah, we don't get far down the street).  He doesn't like going to bed (it takes him awhile to fall asleep), he has become a picky eater lately, and is testy at times with his words (like "I don't like you" or "that's not fair").  He still LOVES playing the drums, Mary Poppins, listening to all kinds of music, and playing with his stuffed animals.
Here's some pics...Kyle eating his first Magnum bar! (they finally brought them to the USA!)
